LONGWAY TRIUMPHANTLY RETURNS HOME WITH THE VANS WARPED TOUR, CELEBRATES THE RELEASE OF JUNKIE.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA – AUGUST 20, 2009 – After a whirlwind 2008 that included a chance meeting with Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman, LONGWAY has emerged from the niche of Orange County to become one of the nation’s most promising punk rock outfits. As the first confirmed act of this summer’s Vans Warped Tour from Kevin Lyman directly, LONGWAY has continued to cement a rabid fan base along every stop of the tour in support of the band’s Old Shoe Record’s follow-up release JUNKIE. Recently named one of the top 10 must watch bands of the tour by About.com with other genre staples such as The Bouncing Souls, NoFX and Gallows, LONGWAY was described as, “a bunch of tattooed California punks who play passionate street punk with a hint of rockabilly.”
JUNKIE, was recorded in just three weeks time in Sacramento during a brief, albeit, productive break between touring runs. Fresh off their trek with friends, Danish pyschobilly trio, Horrorpops, frontman Brian Longway along with guitarist Trevor Jackson and drummer Mikey Pettengill entered the studio to record the collection of songs that result from the band’s very busy preceeding year. Brian Longway explains, “We did a ton of touring in a relatively short amount of time. The road really gives you a different perspective on everything. Junkie is a collection of that.” The record also includes a special guest appearance by Patricia Day on the single “Honey.”

Longway fuses guitar-driven rock and old school punk to create a sound that is sure to rock anyone who hears it. Leading the way to a new generation of the classic Rock'n'Roll Punk that has been changing the face of music over the past 20 + years. Longway was started in 2001 , and consists of Brian Longway on vocals and lead guitar, Travis on bass, Mikey on drums and Trevor on 2nd guitar. Longway is a tight knit group of players with amazing chemistry that exudes on-stage, in studio, and can be felt in the honesty of their songs. Longway has just finished the recording and pressing of their highly anticipated full length album titled "Come'n Get it!" Featuring all new songs and a new sound. Longway is a band on the verge of exploding onto the scene with a ferocity that cannot be ignored.
